You do understand that most games nowadays are GPU bottlenecked, right? Now, switch over to one that is CPU limited, and an i5-2500 will decimate the new FX-8150.

Indisputable fact.

At this point, anyone who buys AMD does so only to spite intel, because bulldozer is probably the most poorly designed x86 chip ever.
If it wasn't for amd we would still be using a poorly implemented x64 instruction set by intel.

Look at the image I just posted above you, BD is terrible in gaming.
Can you back this up with some prices including motherboards, and reviews demonstrating that intel beats amd in terms of value?

At high res the BDs climb the ladder and start edging out the competition. Although we do not all game at ultra high res. Also, this is new tech to speak of. Its going to take a couple months to get a lot of bugs worked out.

I did not expect BD to crush SB like many of you felt it would. I do believe in my scenario it will win vs a SB setup just because I tend to keep 20+ programs open when not gaming. And thats 90% of the time I am home and 10% gaming. Thats why I am sticking to AMD.

Also, This chips a stepping stone. AMDs marketing did push it off as being faster than what it was yes, but what we have here is a bridge to speak of into new tech. Last time I checked Intel had gone through some of the very same problems in its history.

Hats off AMD. You guys do have something here, just carry the torch in the right direction. And by god drop the prices before I buy my next CPU please? I need to keep my tight ass reputation up!

I would say that some people are like me, in that they realize one product does not define every offering of that manufacturer. I've got an m15x with a i7 Q 720 processor. It's a pile of crap and if I could get more than $500 I probably would sell it. But as you can tell from my sig I'm still putting together a 2600k build. I've built a 955BE machine and it rocked. Will I buy BD, I doubt it. Will I buy something from AMD ever again? Probably.

I just have a thing against companies that i don't like to be honest, not really much of a fanboy type complex going on here. Rambus = they had shady dealings perverting the course of justice = i'm not buying AMD's 7970 or 7950 graphics cards because they have "rambus" memory in them. as you can see i don't classify myself as a fanboy but, yeah im waiting for AMD to royally screw its customers or another company then i will never have a computer again, it's that simple.

oh and contrary to my avatar, i don't hate nVidia i'll buy their GPU's sure, but it's just the intel/nvidia pairing i actually quite like nVidia still have a 9500 GT or something.
Mate, seriously, get over it. You want everyone in the business world to play nice?

You are not a international tech watchdog so why do you care?

Of the hundreds/thousands of every day products you use at home/work, there would things you disapprove of in regards to the companies that make them....you just aren't aware of it.

So why, WHY do you insist on limiting yourself to using sub par products in an arena that is of possibly great interest/enjoyment for yourself?

People like you just have a weird outlook on life. You will not change the world one boycott at a time. Yeah yeah "if everyone thought like you bla bla cry cry"

"With the recent turn of AMD can I ask why some of you guys are sticking with AMD?"

so AMD release a ****ty CPU, and people (like me) who didn't planned to upgrade before 2/3 years should switch right now ?

Pretty illogical, i suppose it's adressed to people who have waited bd for so long.

When i'll upgrade in 2 years i'll simply look what fit best for the budget i want to put. As simple as that. It's only hardware, not a religion
