AMD 955 BE C3 overclocking questions

Thread Starter
Hello

I have a few questions before I overclock the NB. I already have my cpu stable at 4.0ghz with 1.453125v in BIOS. The temps hit 55c on a normal day, but on hot days it leaves me about 58c. Next I would like to overclock my NB. I know my max temp on my cpu is 62, so would it be a good idea for me to overclock NB since overclocking it increases temps.

My CPU/NB frequency is currently at default. Overclocking this is the same as doing it with CPU like I am supposed to up the CPU/NB frequency one time then if it fails I up the CPU/NB voltage up once and check if its stable? The CPU/NB voltage is currently set at "auto" at 1.1v. What is my max volt for CPU/NB voltage? And there is another setting in bios "NB voltage" do I have to worry about this also?

Also, the voltage of my CPU is different from what I have set in BIOS. In Bios my cpu voltage is set at 1.453125 and its reading 1.464v in BIOS and same in CPUZ. How do I get my voltage to read exactly what I put in BIOS? And during heavy gaming my CPU jumps to 1.464 to 1.48 from what I've read in HWMonitor.

What do I set these values to?
CPU-Load Line Calibration - Enabled
CPU-NB Load Line Calibration - Enabled
CPU spread Spectrum - Disabled
PCIE spread Spectrum - Disabled

Does your LLC setting have any other options than enabled/disabled?
Vdrop/Vdroop is a common issue and you will rarely see the exact bios setting voltage in your cpu-z readout

Pointless having cpu @ 4ghz and cpu/nb at stock.....cpu/nb is where it's at with amd 1.55v is the absolute max for that. But with your temps where they are you wont be able to get the cpu/nb upmuch without first lowering the cpu oc....and no u dont need touch NB voltage leave that where it is and stay near 2000mhz as poss

I run 4GHz/1.416v and 2.8GHz/1.3v

My chip is a C3 and lapped.

Set all LLC to the lowest setting without being disabled - it will reduce the voltage needed for stability, give you better temps and reduce power usage. You will however need to set the voltage higher. For example my CPU voltage is set at 1.45v on the dot but it's 1.416v under load.

If I use any other amount of LLC with a different voltage, I get voltage spikes and extra heat.

There are no options on that mobo for llc settings other than enabled/disabled
