You're so right that BD is a complete failure.

I'm sorry that you didn't read AMD's discussion about how the architecture might not be very useful for the general consumer.

I swear people really don't grasp/read things.

BD sucks because of power draw and not so great single threaded performance. At least get the bad reasons about a CPU straight.

EDIT: With the right parts (gasp I know) these results were made. RAM 1866 > than Toms RAM 1333. Read about the hardware being used in the tests.
Good job cherry picking. We all know rendering is just about the only thing BD does well.

I also call it "complete failure". Why? A Q4 2011 chip shouldn't be beat in ANY test by one that's based on 2008 architecture (Shanghai). Yet, we see multiple instances where 1100t is faster, at a lower clock speed!

How would you feel if 2500k got beat by Q9550 in single threaded apps? Or even an i5 750?

Exactly this. Bottom line, its a flop. You can't put lipstick on a pig. We waited for freakin ever and we all got hosed. Intel can now relax and keep prices up. I just can't understand this undying loyalty from AMD fanboys trying to defend this junk. Bulldozer sucks. The proof is right in front of you. Open your eyes...

I don't see anyone except maybe one person "attempting" to defend this epic fail. AMD is the only company that stands a chance to rival intel, they needed something big and failed at it big time. I'm pretty disappointed, but i'm still leaving my 2600k in the corner, i'm not gonna pay some ridiculous price and help out a company that just steals ideas and stamps out the competition to get where they are today. That's probably the sentiment most AMD fans have around here.

You pay a "ridiculous" price because AMD failed hard, not because of Intel but because of AMD's ongoing failure.

The 2600k is worth every cent, in fact it is a bargain at it's current price. Intel could charge $500 now that bulldozer is a faildozer.

If you stick with AMD you will not have 2600k performance levels for 12 months plus.

So don't punish yourself with mediocre products just cause you don't like a particular company that offers better products.

I will be picking up a 2600k over the weekend as AMD's products are simply not good enough and I refuse to spend my money on mediocre chips which will cost me a fortune in power bills.

These kind of discussions are fine and dandy honestly. But seriously guys, if you're going to have this discussion....keep within the ToS of the site. Show some cold hard proof. If you're going to post your opinion, make it clear its your opinion.

Sigh.
