New Asus Xonar DX - Couple of questions

post #1 of 6

Just plugged it in . Your help is much appreciated.

1. I have a keyboard with audio ports. Will plugging my Ad-700 + Zalman mic into the keyboard and the keyboard into the soundcard hurt my audio?

2. How should I set it up to maximize full quality from the card. This is my first soundcard.

Thanks everyone.

In fact I currently am getting no sound and can't figure out why. Digital output is set to Asus Xonar DX and the volume appears to be fluctuating by my music. I have my AD-700s plugged into the front out spot and I've disabled onboard sound..

Connect your AD700's directly into the soundcard; don't use the keyboard passthrough or the front panel. The Line In port is the correct one (it's usually colour coded green).

Maybe this will help;

Yeah they are now while I'm troubleshooting. I was told the front jack is the correct one for headphones? Either way, neither is working.

Yeah, the instruction manual says " Headphone/front output
jack
Connect your headphones or 2/2.1 channel speakers to
this jack. For multi-channel speaker systems, connects to
the front left/right input on the powered speakers"
