GTX 480 SLI + Antec 620's Mod - Page 10

IDK dude, I mean maybe the heat from the PSU? If it is that, then you could always get a PCI slot cooler to try and eject the heat from below the bottom one out the back of the case.

I have personnly having issues with lower case heat. Been trying to rig up a partition in the bottom below my 2nd PCI-E slot across to my HDD Enclosure, then add 1 fan beside the enclosure to blow straight up behind the GPU to keep air moving. Problem is my board died before I could test the thing.

Ok so I moved them down back to the front intakes. Added two more fans for a RAD<FAN<FAN<FAN<FAN setup and the temp are much better.

Fans @ 100%

Fans @ 50% (my default setting for near silent)

nice mod dude!
This is what I was looking for, actually I was thinking is such a thing would be doable for a SLi setup using the H50 (since they are so cheap now), but H50's Pump is too big / tall compared to the new slim antec 620/920 pump. If you do ever think of selling off both the 620's and / or the 480's, then let me know. I would be keen.

Tip: Try Changing the pump hose orientation side by side, (the hoses / pump connection facing the PCI bracket of the card like this http://www.corsair.com/media/cms/Blo...u/DSC_0054.jpg). That way the hoses would line up better and you wont have any problems with the hoses pushing on the second card in SLi. That and you could also try making a adapter like this one shown here - http://www.corsair.com/blog/using-a-...eforce-gtx480/ should yield better results and retention.

Was looking at your idea, and wondering. One side of the pump is bringing in cool liquid, while the other is ejecting hot liquid. if you line them up as close as you can, wouldn't the hot side warm the cool side before it enters the pump? I haven't tried this on my GPU, but with the Antec Kuhler on my CPU, I found I had better control of the liquid temps the more I seperated the lines from each other. And, since the intake and exhaust lines aren't labeled, it's hard to tell.

I would imagine the pump spins in a Clockwise fashion when facing the top where the label is. That being said, once my motherboard gets back, i am going to try seperating the hoses as much as possible, running One line against the radiator, and the other line toward the Side panel fan, and the inlets turned pointing as far away from each other as possible without breaking them. It'll look horrible, but I'm going for functional.

Nope, Having them closely lined together Wont make a 1C worth of difference. The hot side wont heat up the cool side. Trust me, The Antec Kuhler is so superior to the H70 that I hear the 620 out performs my H70. Today I had first hand experience with a 920(bought it for a friend and before I install it for him I tried it myself, testing it on my CPU on P95). Lining them close looks good and works wonders on a push - pull setup.

But in case for the OP, since he has it on a GPU having them mounted sideways and lined up would cause the least resistance when installing a second card close in SLi.

IDK, still gonna try Everything possible to cool my system, as airflow is horrid in my case. Would love to get my hands on some steel mesh to replace my 5.25" drives with, but having absolutely no luck finding the mess in any Supply stores or hardware stores like everything else I have thrown in this thing

It impossible to change the orientation. I really, really tried. The hoses are to big and too stiff. and the connectors to the pump are restricted by the side screws. If one of the connectors extended out a bit the it would be possible.

I had a case just like yours before this one i have now. I did exactly what you just suggested for the front drivebays.

I used the filter for in the hood range that sits above your stove. Its thin interweaved metal strips and just cut it to size. Worked fab. ill try to find a pic
