second oppinion on amount of RAD

Thread Starter
hey guys,

I am planning a full build with 2011 and want to have the rad to go full water cooling (CPU, 4x GPU, Mobo, RAM)... i have done plenty of WC builds in the past, but i tend to go a little overkill with rad space... i would prefer not to have a double wide and am just trying to figure out what case i will need... i was thinking a minimum of 120.9 of rad to cool all of this... i would obviously like a little headroom if possible, but i want your guys opinion on the minimum rad space required for this (i based my guess off heat produced from 990x and 580s)

thanks in advance

..yes just a little. I would say 6-8 like. Two RX360s would do the job or 480s will serve you well. Most of the big cases take quad rads anyway so you might as well go ahead.

What fans or target speed are you looking at?

idk yet... i want decently quite, but im not going for silence... im going for performance... my immediate thought was AP-15s, but i recently saw few builds with LED fans that look great, so i may go with some form of lighted fan... im still trying to figure out color scheme and such, so idk witch ones for sure, but i like high static pressure so i can go just push (as p/p is too wide for most cases)

EDIT: it has also been a wile since i did a WC build, so i no longer know witch rads and blocks are the best... last build i did it was black ice GTs and copper EK blocks... i was also thinking about trying a tubeless build this time and using some UV fluid (yes i have seen what it does to blocks, but i like to tinker anyways)

Just go by this 120 rad for block
But a 240 for CPU
So you have 4 GPUs so that's a 480 rad
CPU that a 240 rad for Mobo and ram
Thay don't give out a lot of heat so 120 rad for them both
So all together 120.7 so get a 480 and a 360 rad with AP15s
If you what it quit than get low rpm fans but you will need more rad
And for the best temps go with too loops one for the GPUs and one for the CPU Mobo and ram
Wall that is what I did I have 3 GPUs (580) CPU (980x) Mobo and ram so I got 2 360 rads
And did too loops temps are really good

And for the case you can get a 800D
Mod the top for a 480 and the bottom for a 360 or a 480 rad

Best rad black ice GTX with fans 1800 + rpm
Below that the xspc RX or the TA / PA are really
Good I have the RX and love it

im going for max performance so isnt .7 a little low? i mean a single 120 worth for 2 RAM blocks and mobo? also, im not particularly fond of modding brand new cases worth hundreds of $... i would prefer to get a more expensive case that is designed for it (looking at the TJ11 and MM pinnacle (maybe + pedestal)

How bout a case from CaseLabs? Their cases can accommodate lots of radiators.
The TH10 can fit 2 quads on top. A possibility of 2 more in the bottom and if using accessories, you can mount rads in the front and side. wicked cases! So many options and accessories to choose from. See some of the CaseLabs work logs. So many nice builds if you look over the CaseLabs section here.
Link to their cases: http://www.caselabs-store.com/cases/

lol... i absolutely love case labs cases... i actually have done a couple builds in them too... unfortunately i dont realy want a double wide as i dont have enough room for it, and i would imagine that my desk cant hold a full one up
