Computer Audio Help

Thread Starter
Alright, so I have my speakers plugged in via 5.1 on the back of my motherboard. Then my headset it plugged in via optical. When I want to use say my headset, I have to set it as default device, disabling my speakers. Is there anyway to make it to where they are both are enabled so I dont have to switch, I can just turn up my headset or speakers?

any help or word would be appreciated.

Not that I'm aware of I just use my headset, and when I want it to come through my speakers I switch it to them. But I'll look into it a bit to see if I can do both.

Edit: I wasn't able to get both to play through both but I got one to play on either at the same time. Like I tunes on one and a game on the other

Funny you mentioned, I thought the Gig x58 ud7 I worked on today was the first I had ever seen that played both at the same time.

edit: i have to switch between default and spdif with my sig also.

You could probably switch audio sources in whatever application you want to produce the sound, i dont think you can have two playback devices in use at the same time.
