There is no sportsmanship in a world of free enterprise. It is a cut-throat world out there and companies are constantly looking for the edge, that 1 thing they can do to take down the competition.

However, supposedly information that goes to the L1 cache, sometimes gets corrupt and gets resent again in Bulldozer (that's a bad thing). It could potentially increase power draw, and lower performance significantly (which we have seen). Supposedly there was an MS Hotfix released yesterday to resolve the issue. Keep in mind that the reviews we've seen were all done a week or more ago easily.

Not to mention BIOS issues that could still have been there.

It's all rumor and heresay at this point. However, it is 110% fully possible that the software wasn't FULLY ready for Bulldozer at the time of the reviews. Now, that's not going to make a HUGE impact in performance / power consumption. However, it could easily lessen the blows that we've been seeing, and make it a more competitive chip.

I have been an AMD user for the last 12-13 years. SO I am more of an AMD fanboy rather than an Intel one, but truthfully, I just went with AMD after a while as the upgrade path was easier and I had more fun overclocking on AMD.

While I do respect your opinion, we as common users had a lot of positive opinions from very very senior members on other forums, before the launch. I clearly remember one very senior member on another forum saying that BD would be the way to go and he cant say anything more than that as AMD treated him like "family" and he would like to keep with the NDA he signed.

I am sure a lot of people got their hopes up after reading that one statement, that to from a person who we believed would be quite above the FUD that companies try to spread.

While I do believe that what you are trying to say is that there may still be a chance at some redemption for AMD, I for one have that sinking feeling.

Ontopic.

AMD, I wish your marketing was better. I wish you had said four cores and eight threads. I wish JF was not on the forums, saying all the things he said. Either he was fed the data by others and he didnt know any better, or he plain lied. I dont know what the truth is, but I feel sorry for the guy which ever way I look at it.

BD is probably ahead of its time. BD is probably having some issues that need to be ironed out etc etc. I dont know what will happen in the future, but for the present, and from all the hard facts now available to all of us, BD is fail and I hope the marketing team does not try to prove otherwise.

I hope you realise this and do something about it rather than try and fool yourselves. What, I dont know, but all you have done with this launch is kill half the AMD fans and the once mighty FX brand.

Luckily, you did one things right. You gave us a nice metal coffin to bury our chips with. Atleast, in death the BD will go with some decency.

TO AMD:

Dear AMD,

As a (loyal) customer, I feel utterly deceived by your marketing strategies. We've been put off on a 9-month wait and we could have gotten a flagship processor when we needed one from your competitor, Intel.

At this point, it's safe to say your newest line of chips amount to a total heap of garbage when looking at the other side of the market. This may or may not be the case seeing as how customers and reviewers are only getting their hands on them now -and there is the slight possibility that firmware is not ready for them yet. However, even if that is the case, the pricing is absurd and the power consumption is even worse. With that in mind, your flagship processor still does not outperform what's been the leading BUDGET QUAD-CORE for some time now (2500K, if you're shrugging mindlessly).

Do what you must, even if it must come down to a total recall. Otherwise, I can assure you that 90% of your client base will never purchase one of your products again. The only room left for you then would the in the GPU market, and judging by the quality of your drivers, it is imminent that you will be squashed like a bug.

TO ALL AMD OWNERS:

I've been through most threads (Bear in mind people are SCRAMBLING right now) and I found this post usefully sedating , which happened to be in my personal thread. I definitely needed it in this unfortunate and uneasy situation and feel it could help put other's minds a rest for now.
Get over your 4 more FPS and take responsibility for your decision!

look, the bigest problems is that we have mobo that came out like 2months ago.
The chips that amd was using to test and beta might have been mass produced wrong?
This can happen
Myabe the motherboard we are using do not have the same bios or programming on it that what amd was using.
You have to all understand that in the last 2 months amd might have done alot of changed which will make your mobo need updates or even changing.

So please stop saying fail fail fail flop flop flop, because all you intel fan boys where screaming fail from intel 8 months ago.
Sit back relax and go have a run do some sports or what ever else you would do in your day.
