Hi! Need Help OC'ing My Q6600 - Page 4

It's getting to hot so it shut down to save itself, thermal throttling/shut down.

How is your radiator mounted? How are the fans placed?

cpuz shows 1.175

core temp shows 1.2875
You need to disable the cpu throttling features in your BIOS so it can allow the cpu to run full speed while you test it and, so you can get an accurate reading of the vcore while at idle: C1, EIST, C2. Disbale those.

Your main problem sounds like heat right now. But that's normal, the Q6600's can produce quite a bit of heat.

And as a side note: If the cpu is getting that hot running Prime95 I don't recommend running IBT--that thing will skyrocket your temps like crazy.

Can you show us a picture of your radiator's mounting and tell us what fans you are using on it?

Yate Loon D12SM-12 some of the best fans for your radiator. 4 for 20 bucks and use them in push/pull.

i have diasbled all those features execpt execute bit somthing...

and now the cpu is running fine 7 hours of p95.. 3.5ghz (9X390 @1.48125V @ 75Max Temp)

i think i'll just stay on that speed and try giving it less voltages

any way its overheating so i cant go any higher and 3.6 is not stable andi cant give it more juice cause it will fry up my cpu

but if u have a way that doesnt involve buying new stuff then i will be happy to try

HERE is my case

Switch the radiator fans like I showed you and flip the front intake fan and make it exhaust. Check the temps. See if it helps.

Also, like I showed you in the other thread: cut that honeycomb back grill off and remove the top 3 pci slot covers. Get that air flowing.

What kind of thermal grease are you using also?

Work with what you got and see how low you can get the temps.
