Modifying Fan Speed on a GTX 560 Ti

Thread Starter
Hi guys, I just finished building my first computer, and it runs great; every game at 100+ fps on max resolution. It uses a PNY GTX 560 Ti. I became concerned, however, today that I opened a gadget that states that my GPU is running at 60 degrees Celsius, and that the fan speed is at 40%.

How can I modify the fan speed on my GPU, and also, can I modify a case's fan?
My specs are all in my sig below. Thanks in anticipation!

Hey there, welcome to OCN!

MSI Afterburner can be used to OC and control GPU fan speed. LINK I would set a fan profile in settings that specifies what % fan speed to use for each temperature. I like to do a 1% fan speed to 1 degree C ratio. So at 60C, I would be getting 60% fan speed. Also, these GPUs can take upwards of 100C, so 60C is perfectly fine for a gaming temp I just wouldn't run it >85C or so for 24/7 or anything like that.

With that motherboard, you should be able to set a fan profile (something like Silent, Standard, Extreme) in BIOS, as long as the case fan is connected to a header on your mobo.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

40% at 60C isnt bad... but it would probably ramp up quickly over the next 20C

Alright guys, I was on vacation but now I got to my computer again, and it works (MSI Afterburn)
Sadly though, it won't run automatically when I run windows, even though I checked the box saying it would.

I need to reinstall the program every day because it won't save or make a link, though, but yeah, I guess I can deal with that.

Right click on MSI afterburner application and send shortcut to desktop.
Drag shortcut you just created to startup folder in the start menu.
