I was going to get BD if it was good for gaming (which I was pretty sure it wouldn't be). I'm thinking of trying to get a zosma chip though. Not for any reason besides that my 955 is mediocre and 960T might do a better OC. 4ghz @ 1.5v. Pretty bleh.
However, I will probably just get nothing. i7 920 performance should've been attainable for around
~$120 by now.

BD is doing fine IMO, I ordered one.

As for the post above about your 960T. Great chips if you can get one that unlocks. But trust me when I say it uses the same amount of juice an OCed BD will as well! Not to mention them babies get HOT when unlocked to the Hexa!

SB-E will be a great synthetic bencher but I fear its not really an every day PC item. Its gonna be really damned expensive, require more hardware, and on top of that it will struggle with the same thing everyone keeps flaming AMD about. More cores than are currently needed. Also I sincerely doubt it will perform as well as the 2600 in games as its got two more cores producing heat under there and most likely will not clock as well thus fewer frame rates. Also from what I understand its single core performance is basically unchanged except its memory relationship. In turn yielding a very small performance gain at all in games.

In short, it will be more favored in the workload/server market than anything. But I'm sure it will be a formidable CPU in its own right. Ivy is the one to look at, SB-E is just two more cores.

Well, you have some time yet for Black Friday. Check back in with bulldozer before you buy for sure. It may get optimized and claim a healthier spot on the charts.

Totally overkill for 99% of the people. Even at OCN lol. It's better to wait for Ivy bridge for most.

Not quite right. I have used a MSI P67a-GD65, 2600k and still does, its running 5ghz to 5.2ghz in my everyday setup. No problem at all. Benching fine at 5.4+ ghz. I believe its 6 phases.

Waited a long time for it and I can afford it so it's on its way. I'll OC it and do what I can and see what the performance is myself and if it beats my 1090t in what I do then I'll keep it.
