Yeah, until you realize you need a more expensive PSU, more expensive motherboard and aftermarket CPU cooler, and the price difference could have net you an i5.

Even when overclocked it'll fall behind a stock i3 in certain situations. Plus have fun with all that heat.
Wow wow wow there more expenssve GPU? More expensive board? What??

And is everyone so broke that they worry about a few dollards a year that it cost to run a computer, power draw? lol. Cut back on the chips than.
Well...this is a pretty big power draw we are talking here. Some places it might add $20 a month to your electric bill with just casual usage. If you fold or run some something 24/7...I don't even want to think about it.

Other places electricity is cheaper and you might only be looking at $5 extra a month. Still that is $60 a year in increased bills that could be used to buy hardware that performs better AND uses less power

What in the world makes you think the 4 core will be good? Look at the current chip, look at the IPC, look at the single thread performance. The 8150's saving grace is its decent multithread speed. However with half of those cores gone, how could you honestly see it being good? If current phenom II's are better than an 8 core bd, what makes you think the 4 core will out shine a phenom?

Unless AMD pulls a rabbit out of its posterior, I'll be building a Sandy Bridge rig in the next few months. Prices at that time will determine whether I go with i5 or i7.

Rabbits have claws...and teeth...a rabbit out the posterior might be as painful as the Bulldozer launch.

There was at least three places that did a review of the FX4100...they've been poping up in the threads. Search for FX4100 in the Bulldozer review news thread

What don't you get? It needs to be overclocked as the poster said, which means much more power usage meaning a heftier PSU.

You need a more expensive motherboard with good phase control whereas the i3 you can slap in just about any H61.

I have 8+2 Phase VRMs to feed my CPU...for a FX8150...what will that need?

...I think I need to look closely at some AM3+ boards. I haven't even thought of this till now
