Intel Info for AMD converts?

Thread Starter
Anyone interested in making/seeing a AMD Convert INFO Thread?
Basically a INFO sheet that talks about sockets, compatibility, Future proofing, and any other info needed when making the decisions to convert over from AMD.

I Have had my head up AMD's but so long that I don't know anything when it come to Intel. Last Intel I Owned was a Q9550.

I am currently figuring out how I am going to afford a INTEL system, but In the mean time It, would be nice to have all info in one location.

Do you guys see this being useful for all the new Intel (Ex-AMD) people?

Latest CPU socket (Sandybridge) = LGA 1155
Motherboard Chipset to support Sandybridge = Z68, H67, P67
Memory: DDR3-1600MHZ (PC3-12800)

Future proofing would be in the PCI-E version 3 motherboards. currently ASrock, Gigabyte, and MSI provides these boards, though more are coming out from other vendors as well. Also going with Z68 chipset boards ans P67 boards, although more stable, will eventually be taken over by Z68 boards in the market.

That's pretty much it. The 2 "major" differents between AMD and Intel are obviously the CPU and the motherboard chipsets. Otherwise most everything will be the same.

Happy shopping

Whats google?
It would be nice to have all the info in one place like a spread sheet.
Including info like Average Overclocks, Average temps. Socket Compatibility,
Average voltages, etc.

Why read 10 posts when you can read 1. This will also help cut down on posts asking Intel Questions. Win win...

EDIT:Other factors
Killswitch info, Memory Tips, There is a great difference in Overclocking AMD and Intel.

I'm not to good at Spread sheets but I may give it a try if no one wants to volunteer.
