Bios Temps for 2600k

I just reseated my corsair a70 and when i went into bios the temps were 47 deg C for the cpu and 30 deg C for the mobo.

what could be causing this?

Flash to the newest bios! Mine used to read that and now it reads properly.

it can be that far off just based on firmware?

Yes, I had the exact same thing on two of these boards, the i3 and my i5 were said to idle at 47-55C and when I went in to windows the temps were fine. I recently updated and it reads the correct temps now.

I see they have a 801 bios out, I have the 902. I think the 801 should work fine, I would use that instead of the 902 bios b/c the 902 is a beta.

Alright, I forgot though... what does realtemp say your temps are in windows? Just to make sure it is a bios issue.

will try this first. I was messing around in the bios, in order for me to get an idle temp is there a way to reset my bios settings to default?

Yes, click the normal preset in EZmode then go though and set the rest of the settings to what you like. Make sure you set your ram timings and speed and voltage.

clear the cmos is the best way IMO
