Help with CrossFire

post #1 of 9
Thread Starter
Hi, i'm presently building a new pc because i got a great deal on some part/

There is my old PC:

Intel Q6600
8GB DDR3 1333Mhz
Vapor-X 5750
CoolerMaster 500w
Lian li PC-A03

Now my new One:

Asus Maximus III Gene (Free)
Intel i5 650 (Free)
500GB HDD Seageate (Free)
Lian Li PC-V353 Black ($142)
Samsung DVd Burner
Noctua C12P
16GB DDR3 Kingston 1600Mhz Hyper-X
Saphire 6770 1GB

So basicly whats i wonder is the Following:

6770 and 5770 are basicly the same card
If i follow AMD Chart i can CrossFire my 5750 with my new 6770

Last years a CF of 5770 was a gret combo

So it the cross Fire with my old and my new card gonna perform well or the 5750 gonna slow down this combo?

Thanks

It will work as the compatibility chart but you will have to put the 6770 as main rendering card in crossfire setup, not the otherway around.

Thanks that always good to know, i was presently reading and i found the following

6770=5770
6750=5750

And a crossfire of two diferente one would be at the speed of the slowest one

so basicly i would got a 5750 CF?

It doesn't matter and, you don't have to sync both cards to match the core/memory and voltages. AMD cards can work with their own respective core/memory/voltages in crossfire setup.
