Why do people keep overlooking this..

There's a reason the entire bulldozer line is unlocked, OVERCLOCKING

I'll give you that yes, Bulldozer's benches are extremely disappointing, but I think AMD wasn't so much trying to make an IPC power house as they were trying to come up with a better core design, capable of much higher clocks, and they definitely achieved that.

Sure, the Phenom 2 can keep up with it, but thats not the case whenever you overclock an 8150, because if you have a p2 that can hit 4.6 on air, then you have a ridiculous chip. Thats average for bulldozer.

My point is give AMD some credit, its not a very good value, but whenever they release new steppings it's going to get a lot better

(look at C2 p2s vs C3)

In other words.
Sucks right not, but might not suck later?
Is that your point?

Thats one of them

my other point is that the entire purpose of this chip was the higher possible clock rates, and everybody keeps looking at benchmarks at stock frequency and saying 'man this thing sucks'

I'm still miffed that NONE of the reviewers were bothered to OC the freaking NB or HT! For pete's sake, do they not know how much of a performance increase it brings?

Bunch of sillies, couldn't overclock a CPU to save their lives

I want to see highest overclocks 24/7 under awesome watercooling.

When are these revisions coming out? When IB does?

It's the same argument with Phenom II's vs the i3-2100. The i3-2100 is clearly superior to any Phenom II for gaming even when overclocked but AMD users are attracted to the terrible unlocked processors like retard candy.

So you want to compare overclocked BDs with the overclocked SBs? Are you sure you want to do that....?

It'll get even uglier for AMD.
Who said anything about SB?
I'm comparing BD to Phenom 2s

AMD wasn't even trying to compete with SB, they were trying to compete with Nehalem

Kind of like how the Phenom 2 was aimed at Core 2, not i7s

AMD has maybe 1/5 of the money of intel, of course they're not going to be able to 1-up them

Overclocking is just gonna make the power consumption worse... I could never justify owning one with the power consumption the way it is.

Who cares about power consumption?
not this guy.
