Also, what the @%^# are you guys thinking? That a new product can be put out with out a single problem or hitch? AMD is making an attempt to reinvent the wheel! I'm no defending bulldozer's fail as much as trying to look at this mess objectively. And who care's if this is a Phenom I story all over again? I have been nothing but happy with the performance of my Phenom II and look forward to what bulldozer dose over the next month or two....ok I'm done with my rant be gentle lol!

Whait...one last thought. Even if BD never digs it's way out of this nice little hole it has put itself in it dose not change the fact that my $140 Phenom II at 3.9GHz (on air) kick's some gaming butt! I was able to pull a solid 60 FPS in the BF3 beta with decent settings(med/high) @ 1080p! ok, now i'm done lol.
Thank you lol

Expecting Bulldozer to be completely perfect would be like expecting Windows 8 not to have a single bug whenever it comes out

the first generation of a new architecture is practically a Beta, just watch for BIOS updates and such

not only is this a brand new chip, but it is brand new BIO's, ASUS seems to be having an issue with it. now that the general public as access to BD I would like to think that this next few months will be like one massive beta test.

Going out on a limb here but maybe the Architecture is so new and different that the current benchmarks are unable to fully use BD the way it was designed? Just as windows 8 is going to be optimized for moar core's maybe the bench marking programs need some kind of an update?

Well said. I don't give a hoot if it can hit 8+Ghz.... Clock for clock we've seen it's a piece of ****. Maybe the hotfix will change things. I'm hoping it will because I wanted one... before the benches were released.

also, SBs at 5Ghz isnt as common as people act like it is. and on top of that, im not comparing intel to AMD. at all.
So true, 5Ghz isn't very common. Nonetheless, AMD must always be compared to intel because after all, a processor is a processor and money is money if you know where this is going. That age old equation.

5GHz on air / water on a 8120 or 8150 has already been done.
But the community wants more.. ?

so many AMD'ers been running around 4GHz for so long and everyone was happy, now you got 8 cores @ 5GHz on air and everyone is pissed...

I just ordered the fx-8120 for $209.99. Cant beat the price. I dont care if its not an intel. Id rather pay $2000 less for an amd platform thats at least half as good as intel. I paid $1200 for my system with the 8120 on the way rather than $3500-$4000 for intel thats not even twice as good.

As for the power consumption, the only utility i pay for is water.

Lets see:

AMD FX-8150 8-core 3.6GHz unlocked 4.2GHz turbo core 128 L1, 8MB L2, 8MB L3 w/ native ddr3-1866mhz support
*****$250*****

or

Intel Core i7-2600K SandyBridge 4-core 3.4GHz unlocked 3.8GHz turbo core 1MB L2, 8MB L3 w/ native ddr3-1333mhz support
*****$320*****
and if you go to better processors from intel your looking over $500

if you cant see the difference in what it has to offer and the price then all I have to say is that you need to manage your money better.

it's like the difference b/w oc's($$$$) and H($). which one's better?

Not saying that intel is not better but they are way overpricing their products and screwing their buyers from behind.

I let you know what the FX-8120 can do in a couple days. The reason I got the 8120 and not the 8150 is because my experience with amd overclocking that the higher the stock speed the less overclocking room.
EX: Phenom 965 3.4GHz oc'd to 4.2GHz - Phenom 980 3.7Gz oc'd to 4.2GHz

Hope I didn't hit any nerves. Just stating my opinion. Please feel free to speak your mind. I like to know what other people think unless their thinking is distorted by favoritism.

Thank you for your time.

You talk as if AMD has no knowledge of what is going on. What do you think AMD engineers have been doing lately? During they delay of its launch? Sitting around on their butts playing pin the VRM on the motherboard? There is a chance there will be some more tweaks here and there...but that is all. Tweaks. To even think there will massive boosts to performance in the future is rather insulting to AMD.

However you are correct. If all you are doing is gaming with a single GPU at 1080p then Bulldozer will be fine...most of it will not be utilized for quite some time( and when it can it will be so obsolete that it won't matter) and you will have a noticably higher electric bill but it will do fine.

Though so will any CPU that is a quad or better (though I think the X3s do OK as well). It is when you get into multiple GPU setups where you actually start to need the performance of Intel. From the sounds of it there was a decent amount of people wanting that from the FX8150 and it is looking like they won't get it. Plus there are some PC gamers that will not stand for anything but the highest setting a game has. Your med/high BF3 would be unplayable to some.

You should also remember that PCs are used for things other than gaming.
