Well...the other CPU in the compare will be at stock as well, but I think most of the reviews OCed for testing as well. Several of them did anyway

Does anyone know if the 8120 overclocks similar to the 8150?

The chip should be atleast somewhat regarded if anything as a proof of concept(?). 5 years down the road I wouldn't be surprised if CPUs were using a mix of concepts found in both Bulldozer AND Ivy Bridge.

If AMD and Intel don't go for hit-or-miss things like this CPUs won't end up as good as they potentially could have in the end.

I doubt the cards will do anything magical but I do feel that they'll be atleast a little bit more redeeming a few weeks down the road(as more information is found out about them). Although Intel CPUs are better AMD CPUs tend to scale better with tighter overclocks and such... even if it doesn't equal out with them being better.

May not be much but it's nice to know you're getting the absolute most out of your rig... even if one thing is lacking. For me atleast. Some people just like to overclock... There is a reason people still use Cedar Mill CPUs(?).

Someone please correct me if i'm wrong... Within reason... x_x

No, AMD made a crappy product from start to finish. Deal with it.

5 years down the line AMD will probably be even further behind Intel because of the massive differential in R&D. That plus Intel isn't run like crap.

As for the power consumption, the only utility i pay for is water.

Lets see:

AMD FX-8150 8-core 3.6GHz unlocked 4.2GHz turbo core 128 L1, 8MB L2, 8MB L3 w/ native ddr3-1866mhz support
*****$250*****

or

Intel Core i7-2600K SandyBridge 4-core 3.4GHz unlocked 3.8GHz turbo core 1MB L2, 8MB L3 w/ native ddr3-1333mhz support
*****$320*****
and if you go to better processors from intel your looking over $500

if you cant see the difference in what it has to offer and the price then all I have to say is that you need to manage your money better.

it's like the difference b/w oc's($$$$) and H($). which one's better?

Not saying that intel is not better but they are way overpricing their products and screwing their buyers from behind.

I let you know what the FX-8120 can do in a couple days. The reason I got the 8120 and not the 8150 is because my experience with amd overclocking that the higher the stock speed the less overclocking room.
EX: Phenom 965 3.4GHz oc'd to 4.2GHz - Phenom 980 3.7Gz oc'd to 4.2GHz

Hope I didn't hit any nerves. Just stating my opinion. Please feel free to speak your mind. I like to know what other people think unless their thinking is distorted by favoritism.

Thank you for your time.

You can get a quality 2600K system for $1200. Boards can be had for $120 that overclock to 4.7GHz+

All I have to say is you annoy me with your stuff against AMD. I think AMD and Intel are great and I like the idea of the BD. I'm not sure, but it sounds like it would be great for Photoshop.

lol at the 3000-4000 build with Intel that wouldn't be twice as good. I could probably go with an i7 990x and 3-4 way crossfire and totally stomp your build. And i would still have money left for a nice watercooling setup.
