Thread Starter
If i sli 2 of these i will have no room for my sound card. How do all these ppl sli and have room for their sound card, do they use onboard sound which is crap. I don't know what to do. I will be getting my 1 gtx 570 in the mail on the 14. I want to to be able to run 2 of these for bf3 since i will running it on a 24 inch 1920x1200 monitor. Should i just wait for the gtx 600 series?

Question or statement?

Onboard sound is 100% perfect for "gaming". I've never used a sound card in my life and never had a problem hearing.

No sound card here. 8 channel hd codec on this board.

My Gigabyte board has two PCI-E 1X slots above the first 16X slot, so I have my Wi-Fi card and sound card plugged into each respectively. It depends on your motherboard layout. Kenshiro has a good setup above as well. thumb.gif

I've never had an issue with onboard and I tend to be sensitive to audio flaws. I've always thought sound cards were overkill unless you were doing recording or something else more involved than regular use.

Onboard is certainly tons better than it used to be.

PCI-E 1x cards can fit into a spare PCI-E 16x I'm pretty sure.

Sound cards allow more sounds at once. (Ever play a game like battlefield and have sounds not play? Annoying) And have much better sound quality. But ofcourse they are not needed nowadays. But if I had the choice of one or not. I would always pick a dedicated sound card.

Do you have GTX 570 1.25gb or the 2gb? You might need the 2gb to get optimum performance.
