They're using it as a gauge, comparing phenom I to phenom II and then looking at that FX vs Phenom II graph.

Yes, in some situations phenom I might be faster than FX, thats why the entire internet is pooping on AMD at the moment.

This has nothing to do with each chip's overclock ceiling, he asked for clock for clock numbers.

You just said it will be MUCH better clock for clock, then go on about its overclocking abilities. That contradicts.

CLOCK FOR CLOCK. A BD core @ 2.6ghz vs Phenom 9850 @ 2.6ghz; Phenom is probably better in IPC and thread for thread performance.

He asked for clock for clock, there ya go.

Is BD a WAY better chip? Duh.
Fair enough.

You have NO IDEA how many Bulldozer threads I'm trying to keep track of. I'm bound to slip up sooner or later.

Clock for clock numbers, I still think the FX will pull out on top of Phenom I. Phenom I is basically K8 with 4 cores (I know there's more to it, but performance wise). There wasn't any clock for clock enhancements to it at all, so I really doubt that AMD has gone THAT far backwards in single threaded performance.

And people are complaining because, well look at it. Single threaded performance absolutely sucks with FX (right now). I don't blame everyone one bit for being upset honestly. I'm still being hopeful and thinking that there's something wrong with the software, there has to be. All of the numbers just don't line up at all.

If you look at the anandtech bench comparing the 2.6Ghz phenom 9950 to the 2.6Ghz phenom II 910 the difference isn't really that much. That HWcanucks chart shows phenom II comfortably outperforming bulldozer in most of the benchmarks by a larger margin.

I find it laughable that people think Phenom II clocks better than FX CPU.

First of all FX CPUs' aren't fully out yet so the Manufacturers are behind in BIOS updates. Even for Boards that have been out for well over 6 months. An Engineering sample(the ones the Mainboard companies use) are rarely the final version of a product. Remember how crappy SB was until the Manufacturers rebuilt SB Motherboards with Intel chips?

Then of course you have the OS, is the OS fully up to date with Service Pack 1. Then you have product compatibility issues with a new CPU.

Then also you have Reviewer BIAS and misconceptions about what they believe Bulldozer should be or should have been.

We all knew AMD was not going to fight the HT battle with Intel. But yet reviewers are making a big deal out of the HT issue. HT increases CPU temps that don't favor AMD chips because the colder they are the better the OC. But yet here we are and Reviewers are trashing AMD for not doing it? Are we kidding or what?

Already AMD is kicking Intel a$$ with their price point. I can get a brand new 8 core FX-8120 for $220. Intel can't even touch 6 cores let alone 8. Does SB hit 6Ghz on water? We'll see if BD does. It wouldn't surprise me if it did. Considering they broke OC records with BD just recently.

People need ta chill on this AMD is Fail garbage. Of course it is Fail. You ask any Intel fantard if AMD is fail and they'll tell you it is.

Your post is all over the place, not sure if you're trolling us hard or if you really feel that way.

FYI, the 2500k is at that same price and at times cheaper. Do you see the FX8120 beating the i5 2500k? Here ill help and it will even be the $280 8150.

The FX8120 is priced near the i5 2500k, AMD loses. The FX8150 is priced near the i7 2600k and AMD loses. Are you in denial or something?
