I think they'll stick with their Z68.

And for the money vs reward go with P8P67 pro/deluxe vs the Z68 as there is not useful need for the Z unless you just wanted the newest and that is ok too, but it wasn't worth me upgrading from my board to the Z at this time.

If you do a search on here there are a few threads up worth upgrading from P to Z and it just isn't worth it.

going from 3.5GHz to over 5GHz is a huge jump for such a small amount of money, think back some years we would have had to pay $500-1000+ to get those types of jumps, so sub $300 is worth it imo.
TO YOU $300 is small but I know people who cannot bring that on the table, that is what I mean.

You are right on the second part but still if he doesn't need the upgrade, $300 better saved for Haswell. It's just my .02

EDIT: the 3.5 to 5ghz jump you mentioned... isn't guaranteed. I hope you know that. Most people need shiploads of voltage to get to even 4.5!

If he is asking if he should upgrade, it is safe to assume he knows the cost difference or he wouldn't have asked.

It is VERY safe to say he will come up 1000MHz at minimum with the upgrade, and just about everyone I know that went SB is at 4.9-5.1 range so I am not just guessing that number I came up with.

Either way, I would upgrade the GPU at the minimum as that is your bottleneck for BF3/MW3.

Don't upgrade. Seriously, Wait until a new line comes out. IvyBridge I would focus on. You're fine with what you have now. Just overclock like what people are saying.

I always wait 2 generations to upgrade, gaming wise you are fine with a quad core maybe overclocked a bit more. If you are looking to spend money on your system i would sli.

Keep your parts. No reason to upgrade for what you do. Still a great system. It's still better than bulldozer
