Xfx rma - Page 2

I'm glad to read this.. I bought xfx as I wanted the lifetime warranty. I'm tired of cards dying after 2-3 years. There has been so much talk about how bad their claims service is that it was risky but I jumped anyway. I just had to tell myself that you "mainly" hear about the bad experiences, not very often that someone posts about a good experience.

I recieved the replacement card yesterday (Thursday) and it is the single fan version which retails for $10 less than the 2 fan version that I originally bought. Oh well, I bought the 2 fan version to keep temps down, but if the single fan version overheats and dies, I guess I will get another replacement heh. If they were going to change cards on me, I think they should have gave me the single fan version that comes with the slight (30 Mghz) overclock that retails at the same cost as the card I paid for.

Overall, still a positive experience, if a bit dissapointed in getting back a single fan card, when I had bought the dual fan cooling solution for my own reasons (and paid more for the option).

I still have to test the replacement card to make sure everything is working as expected. I'll post again after that is done.
I would contact them to ask why you did not receive the same card that you sent back. I also bought the 2 fan version.. it was actually the XXX edition. I would not be very happy if I received a base model back as they sell for around $40-50 less.

Just an update- The replacement card works like a champ. It doesn't get above 81 C during furmark and stays pretty quiet while doing so. Been testing it (read gaming on it ) all day and no issues to report.

*happy dance*

I did call them on that issue and to ask if I had to register the new card. He said that they try to send out the exact same model, but they have to use what they have on hand or I would be waiting 'who knows how long' until one like mine came in. I sent in a 6950 2 GB and got a 6950 2 GB is how they see it I guess.

He sais that I didn't have to register the card, but that he would if it was him. I'm going to register it just to be safe.

My experience with XFX was great too, sent me a new 6870 when my 5850 died. Gigabyte on the other hand was a bit more of a pain.
