Currently I'm running 2100 memory clock. If I max it to 2470, can this harm the GPU? I'm confused how the memory clock works. How high can I push that to? Does it affect performance? Does it make my GPU overheat? What does it do?
Generally memory overclocks do not provide any substantial real world performance increases. Increasing the OC will require you to increase the voltage, therefore increasing heat and instability. 2100 is a good OC and I don't see a need to go any further other than e-peen.
I would strongly suggest you stop at the 2100mhz overclock. Like Inglewood said, overclocking memory on the GTX 570 barely improves performance. I keep mine at 2000mhz. The memory on these cards is very sensitive and overclocking it too far will lead to permanent and irreversible damage.
Yeah I heard that a user run memory at 2300mhz then couple of weeks it began to failing... many say that best is under 2300mhz for memory overclocking.
I run daily at 930/2200 or 930/1100 with 1.075volt
and I happy with that.
