200mm replacement fans for Corsair Obsidian 650d

Thread Starter
I've read some reviews that say the pre-installed 200mm front and top intake fans on the 650d case are pretty crappy. Do any of you know of or have any suggestions for replacement fans? They have to be 20mm thick and be capable of air intake. +rep for any good suggestions

Also, has anyone replaced the top 200mm fan with 2 120mm or 140mm fans? Does it work well?

If I were you, I wouldn't be wasting my money on 20mm fans, the 30 mm fans is when you will start to see an improvement. You can get a COOLER MASTER Megaflow 200x200x30 fan, and simply mod the case to fit it. Or you can put one of the HDD cages to hold the 30mm fan. Don't forget to check out the Corsair 650D obsidian official club.

Edit: Yes, 2 120mm fans would be better on the top.

whats more important, noise or price? that is a good deciding factor.

if price wins, i go with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233066 which is $8.99 after rebate and

if performance wins i go for http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835146003

noise plays a big factor and all i did was strictly look at newegg.

sorry, 2nd fan is 30mm.

Corsair themselves sell 30mm 1000rpm fans for 15 bucks. No LED's though...

Price isn't a real big factor, as I tend to value noise and airflow much more. How difficult is it to mod the case to fit the front 30mm thick fan? Is it just simply some hand filing? I am sure I would be able to use 30mm thick fans on the top no problem, it's just that front fan I think will be the pita.

Also, that NZXT would probably be perfect for the front fan except it's actually like 190mm and only really fits in NZXT cases, and all the other 200mm fans seem to be exhaust only.

Sorry to bust in on a thread but I have taken out the original Corsair 200mm fan and I have ordred a Cool Master Mega Flow. I was under the impression that the only mod on this was to simply move the HD drawers over to the left..one anyway..Is this correct? The mega flow is thicker and so taking appart the HD drawer stack and just putting one back seems worth it..

Of all the 200mm fans i know the Bitfenix Spectre fans seems to be the best of the lot

Yes that is correct. You need to remove the 2 HDD racks and move the lower portion to the left. Alternatively like shilka said, you can get a Bitfenix Spectre Pro 200mm and it will fit in with the HDD racks. However, the Bitfenix is a little louder than the Cooler Master Megaflow.
