new model or out of warranty service

Hello,

So I think my second Xbox died. The first was three light RROD, replaced under warranty. This is said replacement.

A week ago, it gave E74. Removed HD, started, shut down, added HD and it worked fine for about a week. Today it gave me E72 twice and now gives me no video at all. Playing Gears 3, which I'm still not convinced I like but that isn't related...

So, my question is, out of warranty repair unit, or should I try to scrounge up cash for the smaller new hardware revision ($300. will not buy one without a HD). Repaired unit will only have 90 day warranty and costs ~$100.

What do you all think, out of warranty repair or replace with smaller hardware revision? Or maybe chance it on ebay I guess...

Thank you all for your help

That sounds good actually. I didn't realize that you could use the original HDD (with a little modification) in the 4gb slim. And I really prefer that matte finish. MS won't ban consoles for this, if they don't ban people for using completely different harddrives, will they?

lol getting banned for a 3rd party HDD is a myth

http://www.overclock.net/xbox/113970...t-get-you.html

since you already have a 360 HDD you can just buy a slim HDD shell like i did for like 7 bucks
