@ JoeyTB

thank you thank you! though in truth everyone helps

@ BreakDown.

aaah, gotchya.. i'd much rather link them right from a google search, going through photobucket adds quite a few steps. im not saying you should do it either way, was just curious how.

righto on having your name on the list, people will see it's you when they click the link anyways.

Will include links in the thread structure..it's a good idea, make it even simpler for those just wanting to get over to it instead of finding.

ill do the same for the game list.

the "to do" list is a personal list i wanted to have up so i would remember to post the games i know that i enjoy. lol you dont have to work on them. you guys about have more games listed that i do! lol

just good to always have more games to list, im working to get into a good rhythm of adding 2 or 3 games a day.

@ MaxFTW

yes we got stickied! totally shocked me!!
well soon and right here you will have a very useful resource for indie game info and links to even better... lol!

I found what appears to be a modern, indie shooter inspired by descent.

Interesting. Downloading now! Also, how would you classify mods? Especially, for games from big developers?

And before I forget, let's add a Indie freeware section!

honestly i am not sure how to classify mods. havent put a lot of thought towards it.

makes it a bit difficult when the mod is from a small developer but adds to a major game and the mod is pretty much a separate game in itself.

i think this will need discussion. i personally would opt to not have them listed, i would rather have straight indie games. but there are "indie" mods out there.

your thought infomancer??

also good catch for the Freeware i will make a serparate section in the game list labeled Freeware then supply the links to the games as we add them in the thread. good on ya man!

Well I know of 1 independent mod which adds on plot to an existing game: Portal Prelude. There is this one Crysis mod (Worry of Newport). (That one is in my to-play list >.>)

There is also the Black Mesa Mod (which I'm convinced will never come out) which is basically Half Life remade in the source engine. Though this mod is just a graphical overhaul so I don't think it would classify as an indie game per se. Maybe (to skip all the confusion) there can be another section called "Indie Mods."

Or maybe certain mods can be considered Indie Titles if they add their own plot onto an existing game. Still, I'm not sure either how classify them (indie games or not).

good examples, and the fact that they are independent mods says alot.
Another thing is that Desura sells quite a few mods, when it is mostly indie games.. so they include the mods. graphical overhauls need not be mentioned here, they arent a game, just a facelift.

Perhaps we can add in Indie Mods, can go right under Freeware.
been at work the whole time so havent been able to check out those yet!

bother...

I'm not enjoying dungeon defenders as much as I expected (note: I'm playing solo). It doesn't feel as polished and smooth as orcs must die.

true, it is slower, you feel sluggish with the characters. i dont feel accurate, and already i think it will take a long time to level. but i want to get multiplayer going, think the experience will really pick up with that. if only i could use my headset...bother

it is interesting though, fun to collect items, wish i didnt have to wait to level 25 to enjoy my TF2 pets..
