Judging from the skill book I'll soon have access to bruce lee style moves. I'm so pleased with my first hero build.

@ TFL Replica, im also playing the binding of isaac and although im having fun with it, im not sure if dungeons of dredmore would be different enough for me to like it.

Do you think both games are very similar or is it different enough to grant a purchase?

BTW: Binding of isaac is my first rouge-like experience.

Dungeons of Dredmore is significantly different from binding of isaac. Isaac is a mix of fast paced arcade style combat with rogue-like elements. Dredmore is more faithful to the deep, turn based, random dungeon crawl that rogue was.

In games that are more directly related to rogue you things like big inventory management, buying/selling, spellbooks, multiple races/classes. They're tough to play and most of them don't allow you to load after death (same with isaac).

Dungeon of Dredmor takes the deepness from rogue but adds support for saving, animation (something most rogue-likes lack) and a nice, easy to use mouse based interface (most rogue-likes force you to memorize 9999 keyboard shortcuts just to eat a piece of bread in your inventory).

@TFL Replica

thanks for the information, ill give it a shot once im done with isaac.

@xBISHOPx

Shank is good, but only if you like combat heavy games, beat em up style. Otherwise i dont recommend it. I would wait for a sale, since its a bit short, and not very re-playable. It does have a nice short co-op campaign, although its local only.

cthulhubox.jpg

Genre: Adventure, RPG
Released on: 13 July 2011 (Steam)/30 December 2010 (Xbox 360)
Platforms: PC/Xbox 360
Currently: $2.99 on Steam (Comes Bundled with Breath of Death VII) and 240 MS points on Xbox
Developed by: Zeboyd Games

Cthulhu Saves the World is an old school style RPG with a fantastic sense of humor, a mind blowingly amazing soundtrack, and all of the Cthulhu goodness you need.

You play as Cthulhu as you try to regain your powers from a mysterious wizard and take over the world. Along the way you pick up a few companions, each bringing their own style of fighting to the group. One may excel at single target damage, but has low amounts of mana and is not very useful in multi-target dps, another may be excellent at healing but has no damage output. As you level up each character they have two branches they can choose for new skills, abilities, or stats. How you choose to build your party members is up to your play style, both branches being very well balanced and fun to use.

The game is a bit challenging at certain points, but it is not overbearing or unfun. There are four difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, Hard, and Insane, as well as a few different game modes that you unlock after beating the game.
