I have turned to the SSD side

Thread Starter
I just ordered my first SSD. Thanks to the advice of you guys, my fellow overclockers, I went with the Crucial M4 128GB. I can't wait to experience the blazing speed.

I see there is a lot of information on OCN about configuring and tweaking SSDs. What are the most important necessities, things I must do, when setting up my new SSD?

It really dont take long to do those tweaks, and you really do not have to, but they help. You will enjoy it.

There's a few good ssd guides here on the forum. You can also check the http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...l=1#post442151 that LXXIII posted. The Tech-forums link is also a good one.

Make sure you understand what each one does before you enable or disable it and you can decide for yourself if that's what you want. For my M4 I had to enable Write Caching for it to work properly. I also kept Windows search on and didn't do too many of the registry hacks as I didn't wanna mess with them.
