Hey guys im looking into buying a new board not sure what i want i know i want it to light up, have programmable keys or macros, not sure about mech or not, but the feel of the of the keys is pretty important i thinks, if it lights up i prefer blue or white.....

Some of the games i play the most is SC2, BFBC2, CSS, BF3.

iI currently use Logitech illumated keyboard very slim not a gaming keyboard but love how it types (or maybe that just what im used to but that was how i picked it cause it looks good and feels good)

here are the picks.....

accessories.dell.com/sna/products/Desktop_Accessories/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=cadhs1&sku=3 30-6214&~ck=baynoteSearch&baynote_bnrank=1&baynote_ir rank=0
http://accessories.dell.com/sna/prod...ynote_irrank=0

for about $80 (i like the features for the price and the changable colors)

http://www.directcanada.com/products...cture=LOGITECH

for about $160s (which i dont like price wise)

http://www.memoryexpress.com/Product...30481(ME).aspx

for about $80 (i like the looks of this one simple to the point slim and not overly big, plus i like how the font for the letters)

i want to use keys for SC2 and i think i like how the macro keys are on the side (left)

For what you want the Black Widow works really well. Programmable keys, back lighting, etc. It's a decent keyboard, you get what you pay for really.

Go with the blackwidow. They have durable, nice feeling switches. The logitech boards are just rubber domes with lights on them.
I would go with the BW. The G19 imo is overpriced for what you get. Do you really need those LCD screens when you play? What you need is macros, and good response and for many people mechanical keys.

If you want a rubber dome back lit keyboard that has tons of macros, the Microsoft Sidewinder X6, you can swap the num pad to the left and use them as macro keys as well alongside the 12 dedicated keys that are already there, with 3 profiles. And it is cheaper than the crowd.

If you want a backlit keyboard that has blue switches and macros, BWU. BW Stealth for non backlit.

If you want a sturdy gaming keyboard with Black gaming switches, Steelseries 6gv2.

ultimate bw has backlit. but i won't suggest bw for a gamer. razer is a gaming brand, but ridiculously bw is just 2kr which is surely bad for a gamer. mechanical is much better than rubber dome in gaming imo. if the backlit is a must for you, go with deck, mionix zibal 60 or ducky shining. if it is not a must, then you have bunch of choices from mechanicals.

Just throw my opinion in on this one.

The BW you have linked as already stated does not have backlights. You need the BW ultimate for that which can be up to $50 more expensive.

The Tactx I actually bought as I was in the same situation as you but returned it very soon after.
It actually is built on the same tech as the G19. I believe they share most components. While it had very nice build quality, good keyboard legs that didn't feel like they would break off and contrary to many of the reviews I read the media keys were not stiff, I had some issues with it.

1) The backlighting bleeds our between the keys meaning that it looks very cheap when the lighting is on. Unlike the microsoft X4 for instance has the light coming through the keys only. This looks very professional, the Tactx just has lots of bleed.

2) While you can change the background colour of the keyboard you cant dim it. This is particularly annoying if you are playing in the dark as it really is distracting.

3) The keys did have quite a bit of "wobble" to them, this isn't a bad thing per say when typing. But compared to my very old wireless Logitech, it meant that you would mis-hit keys when playing games, and this ultimately is big no no in my books for a gaming keyboard.

4) The keyboard also takes up 2 usb ports, not a big deal in today's PC market, but it is worth mentioning.

5) Arguably the point that made me most annoyed, the wire felt so think and stiff it made it fairly hard to route the wire. It felt almost like a HDMI cable as opposed to a keyboard cable.

As I'm based in the UK i had to pay £80 for the keyboard which I think is closer to $120 than $80. At this price, I wasn't happy with the product. If I had paid £40 I probably would have kept it, but at £80...it wasn't worth it.

I must state one thing though, the keys were covered in an almost matt coating, which meant they did have a very nice feel to them. But overall, it wasn't worth the upgrade from my older logitech.
