My card has been working fine, and then i plugged in my old 8800 gts (to add a 3rd screen). It booted up fine and suddenly shut off after a minute or so. I'm running a 1000watt PSU so i don't see that as an issue.

I tried re-seating everything and the only way it will clear POST is with the 8800 only. Even trying to turn it on with only the 480 seated, but not powered, doesn't give me the warning beep i should get, though it still goes through boot up and i can hear Windows chime in with no graphics card running.

It will power all the way up with the 8800 plugged and powered along with the 480 powered only by the 6-pin. If i plug in the 8-pin the mobo lights blink and the machine shuts off. Unplug the 8-pin (leaving the 6-pin plugged in) and it boots up fine, no warning beep, and the device mgr only sees the 8800.

Another thing i tried was cleaning out the old drivers, but nothing changed except having to install the nVidia drivers again.

I hope my gtx 480 isn't fried. DirectX 11 is awesome and i'll miss running at 40-60fps on high-end games.
