Ill go ahead and let people know that i plan on doing a VERY thorough testing next weekend. Would be sooner buy my PSU doesn't come in till thursday sadly. Im not sure if Pioneerisloud wants to setup some sort of thread or something of the nature for some of us to post and compare results. Maybe have a thread with some google docs of scores with a whole slew of benchmarks, particularly cpu intensive ones and not so much games.

I would like to see this. I really want to see some of the automated game benchmarks. I don't care about vantage or any of that junk. I want to see metro 2033 benchmark, crysis benchmarks, etc.

I'd actually buy the fx-4100 but the 2500k is only $50 more.

And if I get a 2500k I know that there is going to be some bios or windows kernel update that will boost bulldozer performance past 2600k performance.

I have the same feeling so I might just build a 960t with a 990fx board Use the money saved to get a new GPU

Edit: 960t Thanks to the recommendation by Pioneerisloud

Honestly, id say wait and see what us crazy folks who bought this and see what we can do with it. And to see if any kind of update (MS/Bios) is released to help with performance.

The only reason i specified CPU intensive benchmarks is because that will help eliminate more variables for testing purposes. Once a fix is found to help the CPU work as it should, then you take it to the game arena. At least thats how i see it done.

Well. I plan on building a new rig (I hate this x58 rig... too many issues) around black friday. Hopefully, they can get these issues resolved by then. I would love to give AMD my money again. I'm expecting to go 2500k, though. Maybe the quads will perform better?
In progress.

There's already a thread up where users of Bulldozer have been posting their results somewhere (I only looked at the first page in AMD CPU's). Maybe the OP there wouldn't mind if you shared your results and he linked to your posts.

I've spotted several possible misconceptions about the FX CPU so far. One of them is power consumption.
We have had several websites apparently reporting 300W+ power consumption for the AMD FX processor, but I have seen otherwise on a couple of other websites:
I have no idea how the other reviewers did it (i.e. did they factor PSU efficiency, VRM efficiency, motherboard components?), but from the looks of it, the power consumption may really not bad at all. The FX-41XX consumes much less power than Phenom II quad cores; at ~5Ghz clocks or more (at which I will assume that they will perform on-par with or better than ~4Ghz Phenom IIs) it is possible they consume less power than even a stock Phenom II.

3DM11 isn't taxing the CPU like prime95. Those prime95 numbers are stock numbers. More cherry picking like always.

The load numbers from other sites, VERY reputable ones btw, are accurate especially for true OC CPU load.

Have fun with your 8core K8. BD sucks.

^ Well, power consumption goes up with voltage. Most of the time when you first release a product and have an overclocked comparison up, the overclocks are rather conservative and the voltage particularly high (higher than one would expect). It leaves me curious as to what actual consumption would be like in a real-life scenario with a more realistic, heavily tweaked overclock.
