So you want to mod DOOM 3 and get incredible graphics? well you came to right place. This game can look as good if not better than any game out right now. In this tutorial i want to show you how to add SIKKMOD , Wulfen textures HD , Monoxeads HD textures and how to enable parallax occlusion mapping. The first thing to do is install DOOM 3 either via steam or from your disk. Next download SIKKMOD v1.2 here
http://www.moddb.com/mods/sikkmod/downloads/sikkmod-v12
To install this , just extract the sikkmod folder into your DOOM 3 folder. If you wish to launch DOOM 3 with sikkmod everytime , instead of having to go to the mod menu and such , just type " +set fs_game sikkmod " into your launch target or steam launch settings.
Next your going to want to download both wulfens texture pack and monoxeads hd pack.

http://doom3-hr.com/Main_Eng.html
When installing these , place monoxeads first into your sikkmod folder , then install wulfens ( override any of monoxeads for wulfens for the best visuals ) After that , its time for installing the parallax occlusion mapping. When you installed wulfens texture pack , there was folder called parallax occlusion mapping. Inside that folder is a folder called glprogs. Move that folder into your sikkmod folder and that will activate the POM.*
* Parallax occlusion mapping is very gpu intensive depending on your system. I am lucky enough to have dual 580 lightnings overclocked to 954mhz and my gpu usage is around 17-22% on average. I have heard of issues with ATI based system with using parallax occlusion mapping in doom 3 so i cant guarantee it will work perfect on ATI systems.
Here are some of my shots with parallax occlusion mapping

Now settings up the sikkmod will be more of a trial and error situation. Effect like SSAO and soft shadows use alot of juice with little reward. DOF and Bloom make a huge impact on the game and make it look incredible. Color grading and so forth can make the game have a nice hue to it but cost gpu power. Dont forget that using these options especially with parallax occlusion mapping cost vram and i have seen mine hit over 1GB during heavy combat.
Heres some nice shots i took so you can understand

Also another cool thing about SIKKMOD , is that it allows you to change the games core features to your liking. To give an example , regenerating health , ammo loadouts and dynamic hud and so on.
Next , here is a mod that allows the dead bodies to no longer disappear. Put the contents of this folder in your sikkmod folder and enjoy no more disappearing bodies!!

The next post , helps you set up your settings in the doomconfig file under the mod you are using to enable hi-res textures , widescreen support and so forth.
IT SHOULD BE NOTED ALSO THAT SOMETIMES IF THE TEXTURES ARE NOT WORKING THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE GOT THEM TO WORK BY ALSO INSTALLING THEM IN THE BASE FOLDER ALONG WITH THE GLPROG FOLDER
