615 is a big NO! had nothign but bad experiences with it and DDDWRT is only on a couple models.

I ended up changing for this one

Its simply a custom firware for your router. Many different perks which depends on the model of router to what ddwrt does for it.

if i DD-RWT the firmware, in case of problems can i restore somehow the old firmware?

there will be instruction on the website when you get the firware for your router.

yes, their should be a DL link to the factory firmware and directions with it.
It is possible.
