Are these stuff suit for my computer?

I dont know if this is the right section but i have M3N78-VM mobo, AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.40GHz processor, HD5450 graphics card and ATX-600w PSU. Now lets say i wan to upgrade my graphics card. But a friend of mine said my PSU's true power only gives me around 350w+ which it can't supports a HD6850. So in order to upgrade to HD6850 card i have to get a new PSU too. He suggested me Cool Master GX550. So i was wondering if that PSU would performs good with that card? or should i purchase even better PSU?

OK, i'm going to try hard here.

Your friend said your PSU is only putting out 350w. Doubtfull tbh.

Can you tell us your existing PSU? Take pictures so we can do the math

If you want to have a look at this http://www.overclock.net/power-suppl...-supplies.html and then pick something from the 500w range and you'll be fine with a 6850/70

I'd imagine any 600W PSU would be able to run that setup just fine, maybe your friend is concerned with the overall quality of the PSU, in other words, is it from some shoddy company/generic brand? Faults with the device could be exposed with a higher performance requirement. If that is indeed the case, then getting the CM550 might be good for your piece of mind. Don't think you have to shell out for anything better though.

I cant capture a good picture of my psu lol, it's blurry. But it says there AC INPUT: 230V~, 50Hz, 4A. This is the second time that been said my current PSU's true power can't support hd6850. Also i heard that coolermaster gx series psu isn't that good? Is that true?

As long as its of a notable brand: CoolerMaster, Corsair, Antec, Silverstone, and the likes, and isnt filled with dust or taken out from the cupboard after 5 years or thrown and kicked around as a rugby ball, you are fine.

Not true, CM do have some shoddy peices of crap out there tbh. Just like antec.

The Corsair GS series are ok but the TXV2 series are better.

Personally, i'd probably throw in a TX650V2 and be done with it. It'll also allow for a lot of head room for a xfire setup as well.

But yes, you can run that rig on a 500w with ease
