AMD FX 8150 all the good ! - Page 25

Bulldozer is not so fail,it's a good CPU with a high power consumption and new archeticture that may give it advantage in the future, or may not, but unfortunately it cannot compare to intel's SB. more over you will be able to upgrade SB to Ivy bridge in the future both would be the LGA1155 socket.

1) If you want the best $/pricormance or just pure preformance go with SB and you will be able to get an Ivy bridge for more preformance.

2) If you want the BRAND and the best mobo of ROG for cheap and the preformance of BD satisfacting you GO FOR IT!

Mmm, Sandy Bridge.

There was a time when this was said before and Intel got thrashed by AMD.

As I have stated before, Cudos to AMD and the new Architecture. Needs a bit more work but there is by far something here. In the next 2 months as people code software to properly utilize the chips new approach to processes we will have out self a winner.

Also, its important to note that this is not really an 8 Core CPU. Its a quad core with physical hyperthreading. Despite the marketing scheme AMD used. And quite simply, its doing just fine.

As the couple days have passed recently I am finding plenty of benchmarks where Bulldozer has beat the i5s and i7s. But as soon as someone links it all of the sudden every person on the planet owning an Intel feels its a personal attack on themselves that a CPU beat their beloved chip in a benchmark.

Please do not stop making points. But do not post the fan boy crap about how Intel beat BD just because you own one and or your personal feelings without a single link must be displayed unbacked.

As a current owner of both companies products at this time including an i7 and an i3 (Do not own an i5) I will say AMD is doing just fine for the price. The initial release price is always higher, it will settle down soon, they are capping profit until stores stop liquidating stock instantly. Intel does the same thing but they are usually much higher.

Its only getting better as time goes by and this chip has unbelievable potential as long as the effort is put forth in the right direction.

lol, theres a guy on another forum that says it is getting low scores because they didnt test it with 1866mhz ram, some people are just special I guess.

he said this:

Quote:
Find me some benchmarks with bulldozer paired with DDR3 1866 and performing poorly in games then.

So far the only reviews I found that had bulldozer paired with 1866 had it performing within a percentage or 2 of the 2500k/2600k (which are basically the same performance as each other in games).

I say that 1866 makes a difference, I provided proof. You say it doesn't, now provide proof.

heres the answer it won't.... and intels tick tock can be claimed over and over again and again.

How is the best CPU AMD has to offer?

let's take a moment to compare a 1090T to the FX8150

Multithreaded perf. FX8150 wins sometimes, depends on the bench.
Singlethreaded perf. 1090T wins
power consumption goes for the 1090T
Price goes for the 1090T.

Now when a 1090T compares to the FX like that, who in their right mind would even think about going FX when there are lower priced intel options that give more performance available?

I just can't see it. If you have a very specific task you perform with your computer and benches have proved BD to better at it then please go ahead, but otherwise I just don't see the point in buying lesser hardware for more money.
