Instead of trying to place the same problem on more cores

Increase the size of the problem so it can be parralleized more and have better features

Problem is you can't always increase the size of the problem

False, You can always increase the problem

Why do you think you always need more RAM?

Because Windows and Linux are a bit on the fat side ?

It's a lot more complicated than that. In a complex application like a game there is not a simple "problem" you can just make bigger and split in smaller paralell subproblems. If it was that easy everything would use as many cores as available

Note that Gustafson's law is based on the premise of "large, repetitive data sets"

Woah guys, the rumors about the registry and all that updates n stuff we heard might possibly be coming true. I see a new score on Passmark now for the 8120 and its OVER 9k! I'm guessing the 8150 will get its re-score to?

or am i seeing something wrong?. either way i think things will shape up for us.

Obviously the verdict isn't official yet on BD.

So many different results from different benchmark websites using different hardware components tells a simple story. Not every manufacturer is on the same page with regards to BIOS and drivers.

Thread Starter
AMD FX cpu's need 1866MHz or higher ram , and if you want to compare vs 2600k its should look like this:
At same clocks*
FX 8150+1866MHz vs 2600k+1333mhz / FX 8150+2133MHz vs 2600k+1600MHz / FX 8150+2400MHz vs 2600k+1866MHz

I'm posting a new thread about AMD FX cpu's and RAM 1866MHz+
