If some magic happens in the 1-2 years before I end up making a new rig then I "might" and I stress the might get another AMD to stick in my apparently failure of a great motherboard. To celebrate the release of BD and all the insane vcore that the reviews were running. I decided to decrease my OC to 4.16 and lower the voltage to a comfortable 1.368 volts with C1E and CnQ for much better temps and minimal loss of performance. Perfectly stable and much faster than a Slowdozer, so I would like to thank AMD for producing the excellent C3 Denebs.

All I know is that at lower res "like my 1440 x 900" Slowdozer was getting jammed up by all the sand under the bridge, and that means that it would be a significant downgrade for gaming and and expensive upgrade for slightly faster encoding and rendering and on top of that I would need a new PSU to even run the thing, so 400-500 bucks later and I could actually turn my rig back on. There is no merit to buying something slower when everything I would need to upgrade to it would cost me as much as a new sb mobo + chip, that's just my take on everything.

I was contemplating BD until its release. I'll do fine with my 955 right now but might go to SB when SB-E releases if I feel like dropping the cash.

to BD, no.
Not after the abysmal performance.

My 940 BE is good enough, but not great after 2 years.
BD had let me down so much that I am switching over to Intel with a i7 2600k.

Ive been with AMD since 2001!!! I had the t-bird 1ghz cpu, Ive been through 6-7 different cpus since then, all from AMD, BD is just the straw that broke the camels back for me.

I'm also thinking about upgrading to 16GB of ram, that will let me run more vm's at once (much easier than having to shut them down and boot them up all the time). I figure the more vm's I have open, the more cores I will need. But even if they're open, I never actually use more than 1 or 2 at a time. So I'm figuring that I would notice an improvement from x4 to x6, but much less from Thuban to BD.

But... I've been wanting a new motherboard for awhile. I need a Crosshair to finally complete my color scheme. So if I'm getting one of those anyway... Then the price difference between an 1100T and a 8150 is insignificant...
running that many VM's, BD might be very attractive, no benchmarks to validate that suggestion. give that a few more days.

I like my 1090T. So what if it isn't the latest and fastest thing out there? I AM having fun playing my games and enjoying tinkering with the OC settings. People should not have buyer's remorse for not getting an Intel over AMD or ATI instead of NVIDIA or vice versa. Somethings will always be better than something. I can understand the fustration of those who have waited along time and maybe their pc is hitting the 2-3 year old mark and I can see why they would want to spend money to upgrade, but I have only had my system for two weeks and see no reason to spend more money already. I know SOME on here would by the latest and great next month after spending hundreds of dollars on something that was the latest and greatest this month. TBH, if we were more contient on what we have, I believe companies would drop prices down a bit more because everyone would not be just spending away their money and not buying things so quickly. That is my two cents anyway.
