To everyone ragging on the prices...they are 8GB DIMMs. That is what they cost right now. Like anything they will come down in time.

4GB sticks were expensive as HELL a few years ago. Now they may as well come with the system.

Hell no. for 999 bucks you get a high-end system incl. high end ram. it is even not justified cause of the 8gb DIMMs. you can get 32GB kits with 8gb DIMMs for under 300$. quadchan or not.

marketing an exclusiveness :/

Why exactly would an SB-E overclocker / gamer on here need 32GB of RAM ?

99.9% of all people won't need it now and I'm guessing 99% of the people who buy SB-E won't either.

Unless you're a 3D creator or some sort of graphics guru. You won't need it for a while. Heck even 8GB is plenty.

I'm fine and dandy with my 16GB of ram for now, though it is nice to know that they're out there (so the price will start dropping fast )

Denser sticks have been historically more expensive. Anyway if you were doing mission critical work, ECC ram would be a wiser choice. Still this will be good for e-peen.

I run VMs and game servers. My PC is constantly yelling at me because because of memory shortages. RAM is cheap. What's another $100 for another 16 GB of RAM? Big deal. There will be boards with room for 8 DIMMs and I'm sure many who need that much RAM will end up choosing.

Go do a hefty after effects project. I can get 8gb of ram on around 30 seconds of video...
