Water leak........

Thread Starter
hi guys, I just got home and tried turning my pc on. But no reaction

Then i opened up the case and saw a red (the water is EK blood red) spot on the buttom.. FUUUU!!!
The water had leaked thru the pump upper connection and into the pump.

Then i thought that it might be the psu that had gone up in smoke because of the water in the pump. But i tested with a new one but no reaction.

When i press "power on" the fans make a small jerk.

Please say that there is a way out of this without having to buy at whole new computer, because i have a lag party in two days!!!
So all of you water nerds, i seek your knowledge

First off dont freak out unplug the pc DONT try to start it any more. Then take you pc apart and wipe down the wet parts, Use a hair dryer to get some of it dry, Then this may sound strange but get some rice and put on the wet parts this will dry anything left. Then this will be hard but dont do anything for a 48 hours. after that reassemble evey thing and then see if something is burnt

the water did not (thank god) get on any of the normal computer parts. it only hit the pump.

so should i do the same with the pump ?

What pump is it?

If you dry everything down and it still does that 'I try to boot but I don't even hold power on fans' it's your board, that's fried.

Might be only a shorted pump that makes the PSU trigger the protection.

My RES blew in pieces, and I had coolant on the bottom of the case, but the loop was still running! Really weird situation I can tell!
The water didnt come onto electronic parts, so the pump was just a bit louder than usual, and I had been running like that for 2 or more days since explosion.

When I opened the case I was shocked how that loop could still be running, with just half of inch of bottom cup of RES full of water!
