Preparing for BF3 6870 xfire

Should I get another 6870 and xfire. This will be my first time going dual cards. What problems are common with xfire on my board msi 790fx-gd70 or in general.

my 6870 crossfire setup with 11.10 beta drivers ran bf3 amazingly. There were times I'd get some texture flickering which is common with crossfire but the effects weren't that noticeable and didn't alter the game play at all. In Caspian border (64 man server) I would range from as low as 40fps and as high as 130fps (average 60-90) @ max graphical settings.

Crossfire is great, have seen huge improvement in Catalyst 11.xx.

Just a heads up, you might have to remove the soundcard or network card for the crossfire to work due to lack of PCIe lanes for the second card. Or get a new mobo that supports PCIe16, 16, 8, 4 if you want to have them all.

The most common problem with crossfire on an AMD platform, is that it doesn't perform as well as crossfire on an Intel platform. By that I mean it's typically slower on the AMD platform. 2 hd6870's with a phenom II x4 is going to be slower than 2 hd6870's on even a i5 760.

I think two 6870's will out perform one 6950 (2gb)
