Oh, and I didn't think of that because I'm stupid... I'll try running it on the 3GB 580 single and see if that makes a difference.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I am running one 1.5 and one 3 with coolbits...
Still limits you to run 1.5 GB on that 3GB if its in SLI due to the fact that the amount of vRAM used in crossfire/sli per card is dependent on the card that has the least amount.

atikmdag BSOD's

3 BSOD's within days of each other, and last 2 were yesterday hours after each other, seems my GPU just can't handle it lol.
sounds like u need to make a fan profile in Afterburner and turn those fans up higher to keep the heat down. because my cards run at 99% in FFXIV it would heat up to a steady 80* so i upped my fans for a lil extra noise and keep them at 60*

I'm using roughly 400-500 mb of vram in afterburnner at 1080p so i doubt its the v ram. and I have almost no problems with sli. As long as AO and AA is off i'm usually at 60 fraps out side. and close to 50 in the city.

Thanks for ruling the vRAM out then, more then likely its poorly optimized code for the OP, or perhaps drivers for his specific cards (580s) and the game not playing nicely together

You can't yet (at least not officially). The game client isn't free, Square Enix will sell it to you for $30, but the service is currently free until they take it back out of beta and start charging for subscriptions.

I just got FFXIV a few days ago. With Ambient Occlusion and everything else on highest I was only getting around 17-22FPS. I've been messing around with the settings quite a bit. I turned AA down to 4 or maybe 2( I'll have to double check) ,AO off and all other settings on high and in the cities I'm around 45 FPS,outdoors I stay at 60FPS. Out of all the games I play this is the only 1 that makes my card break 60C besides the BF3 beta. I'm usually around 61-62C in FFXIV.

I am aware, that is why I said I have it running with Coolbits. That is what allows them to run in sli.
