Hopefully Piledriver is as good as Northwood though, people forget Northwood was actually good, it was Prescott that was a useless pile of crap.

From Anandtech's review. Bulldozer's FPU is at a disadvantage for FP heavy loads. Also, considering the changes to the pipeline (which would inherently lower IPC while increasing clock speed), that is pretty amazing.

There was also a review somewhere talking about scheduler optimization that would help as well. I cannot find it right now, but it talked about putting threads that shared information into the same module, and moving other threads into their own modules until there are no modules without a thread. I looked for half an hour but I can't find it, but I'll look again tomorrow. Of course, this is not the case in Windows 7.

In the end, I think with everything that is stacked up against it, it is amazing that it achieved the results that it did, and when they overcome those obstacles (whether its soon in Zambezi or in future revisions) it can turn out to be quite a decent chip. Unfortunately, in the current state of things, the final performance is underwhelming, although some people blow it out of proportion.
This is why we have to wait. People who rush will get disappointed by the first impression only but it won't matter as soon new updates and fixes come into place.

It is better to wait before getting your hand into 990FX and FX chip like myself I am 50/50 unsure if they can fix all these issue up. Every issue is stack upon each other in term of degrading everything.

5% performance lost here, 3% lost there on top of the 5% and another on top by 4%... and summing it up it's about 20% lost with all these bugs as an example.

I really don't think it will be anything anytime soon, though, as it will be a slow process, and sadly all the reviews ARE valid for the product you would get if you went out and bought it as it is TODAY.

The real purpose it serves is a stepping stone to the future. Zambezi introduces a lot of new things, which will slowly be adapted to take advantage of. The "forward looking" design of it is its greatest problem, as you are buying the chip to use it TODAY not tomorrow. It gets all of these things out of the way, though, and paves the way for future chips to cruise by a lot smoother.

They are not planned to be fixed by B3 but by Vishera

2. ) CPU Scheduling is a bad excuse

3. ) Power consumption is a mixed bag you have a high variance 1137 chips consume 500W 1134 and 1135 chips consuming less

That sounds like it has a lot more to do with it. I'm sure some tweaks with software are going to help, but that's just like everything and anything.
Definitely design flaw. Wasted transistors. Inefficient design.
You would think that a processor supposed to turn the tide for AMD should have been mostly hand crafted. It's a shame.
