Switching from AMD

Hi there fellow ocners !

After having amd for a long time i'm finally switching over to the dark side

Sig rig will be the same except for the mobo/memory/processor.
Now i'm on a limited budget here that's why i'm asking for advice, because even with a limited budget, there's a lot of choice.

budget = 300-400 euros which is pretty much 400$ (taxes )
2500k is 180 euros so that leaves me 120-220, i'd prefer to keep it below 370 euros total though.

Processor will be the 2500k, obviously .
Memory 8gb at least, now idea what to buy, not going for corsair vengeance again. Memory heatsink clearance however will not be an issue with the corsair h80.
Mobo : clueless, asrocks gen 3 looks nice, but i have no idea if it's the best i can get for my money. Not sure if i should go z68 or p67 either. Has to have 2 pci-e slots and i'd like to overclock the 2500k as much as possible.

So my new intel brothers, what would you recommend ?

ASROCK motherboards are fantastic for the money - I'd go for P67 over Z68 as well, unless you want SSD caching.

So would this mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157271 + http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231428 be good? or would this mobo be a better choice even though it's p67 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157265 they cost about the same in my country.

(obviously not buying from newegg, they don't ship to holland)

Only demands are a stable overclocking platform and something that will last me for a while (will upgrade to ivy bridge and 600 series after a while i guess). Coming from a 1090t btw what can i expect in terms of performance? (1090t bottlenecked the 5770 crossfire btw, yes i'm not joking... i play at low resolution though 1366x768)
Games i play are SC II , WoW and BF3 soon.

Thanks for the help

This is the EXACT question I wanted to ask!
Mobo and all

Is the ASRock z68 with pci 3.0 any good, anyone know how it does in the VRM area.
Does it OC Well?

The Price is nice!

Will I see a noticeable Jump from a 1100T
I would hold out for IVY but I learned that lesson (DIE AMD)

Also My goal is to build a Rig to SMASH SKYRIM! so no gpu bottleneck in CF
2600k Should handle 2 6950s with ease right?

I also am dropping AMD like a bad habit. But what I need to know is that a good way to start things off with me for a good game & OC'ING rig.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115072

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157265

I want to stay under $400.

My GPU'S are 2 6950's that I am going to put in crossfire.

So is there something better then this I have all the other stuff RAM PS Case etc..

So am I doing good with this setup? And what kind of OC can I see I am going to be using a NH-D14 to cool the CPU.

All input welcome.

Instead of making a new thread, I too have been thinking of upgrading my rig to Intel and hand down some parts for my GF's computer.

Sig rig is going to be same instead of

Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 PRO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131771
CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115070
GPU: Just because...EVGA GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130587
RAM: 2 sets of G.SKILL Ripjaws 1600 (2 x 4GB) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231445

or G.SKILL Ripjaws X 2133 (2 x 4GB) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231476

I know there's hardly any difference between 1600MHz CL9 and 1600MHz CL8 but it only costs $14 more and I prefer the blue heat spreader.

Looks like the 1600 can OC to 2133.

For $30 more I can get the 16g RAM with faster timings. that possible can OC to 2133. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to do that if I use all 4 sticks.

So which is the better value?

Any other suggestions/comments are welcome with whole setup.

Thanks,
Gaming
