Reasons why I should switch to nVidia? - Page 2

Drivers have been more of an issue for nVidia users of late than the other way around iirc.

i think i would stick with what you got.the 6970 is a good card and you wont notus any difference between it and a 570. why dont you spend that extra money for other parts? like a SSD a 2 tb drive a better mobo than what you are thinking to get and maybe some watercooling parts

I also want to note the 570 is not really worth the cost over a 560 ti. IMHO the only 5xx cards worth their weight are the 560ti and the 580/590. The ATI/AMD side has a better scaling for performance/cost.

May I ask why are you actually building a new rig?

I'd agree with this, except for the non-reference 570s.

Kind of wanted to have this current computer in my room and the other in my living room. My current computer with the 6970 would be for my personal use, this new one would be more for me and my roommates

No doubt, ATI drivers are definitely better than they were, but I still had way more problems with my 4870 drivers than I ever did with my 8800 or my 560.

I switched from a single 580 3gb to 2 sapphire 6970 because I wanted to go surround but couldn't afford a second 3gb 580. Damn I miss that 580. the 580 was MUCH quieter & cooler even though both cards have external exhaust vapor chamber design coolers. On top of that, everything just felt like it looked better and ran smoother with the 580.

Hmmm after reading all these makes me think I made the wrong decision...? I recently returned my 6950 2gb Unlocked and Oced to 6970 clocks for a Zotac Amp! Gtx 570. I guess that was a mistake?

HD 6950 2gb = $230 AR/AT + 1x Free Batman Game
GTX 570 = $240 AR/AT + 2x Free Batman Game
