Thanks for taking the time to NOT read the article I posted.

Also thanks for making it clear that you've never edited a video before in your life.

Completly agree, I was looking to get a GTX 590 but my father would not pitch the 200 he promised, but he got a 580. I saw the 590 as a card that I would keep for a long time, so it's more of an investiment.

Nvidia to my knowledge has better 3D, if not the only 3D, the cards DO tend to run hotter, but it really doesnt matter since a card can go up to 80 with no worries (i like mine 50 and under).

The AMD vs nvidia pricing is a win/loss, each have their strengths and better deals, just be sure to catch a card on a sale !!

This is just out of control... Can't you just admit AMD is alright? Seriously...

I never said that 6970 cfx would beat the 580SLI I said that it was CLOSE which it is...

I give up... No point in trying to correct the ignorant...

Well..... it loses in price vs's performance big time

That's why ATI is better -- How much would 2gtx 580's cost you vs's 2 ATI 6970's? Compare them with what was showed.

Yeah, go ATI (and I have a GTX 580)

Stick with what you have OP, it'll perform nicely. When I'm in the market for a new video card I only consider performance/dollar within my price range. Nvidia won this time around simply because I was able to snag such a great deal on my 465-turned-470.

Price of 2 6970s = $660
Price of 2 580s = $900

The 6970 competes with the 570. And despite that, it's crossfire scaling is able to beat/come close to the 580s in several benches.

Nice logic.

In terms of average FPS gains for two GPUs, AMD has the advantage here. It’s not much of an advantage at under 10%, but it is mostly consistent. The same can be said for three GPU setups, where the average gain for a three GPU setup versus a two GPU setup nets AMD a 127% gain versus 121% for NVIDIA. The fact that the Radeon HD 6970 is normally the weaker card in a single-GPU configuration makes things all the more interesting though. Are we seeing AMD close the gap thanks to CPU bottlenecks, or are we really looking at an advantage for AMD’s CrossFire scaling? One thing is for certain, CrossFire scaling has gotten much better over the last year – at the start of 2010 these numbers would not have been nearly as close.
