1500 dollars for a new laptop. I need some help guys.

Thread Starter
I've been out of the loop for the past 6 or 7 months, and now that I've finally got the money that I needed for a laptop. I've got 1500 dollars to spend on a new machine.

I'd like to play games on it (new upcoming stuff like BF3 and Skyrim), as well as have an HDMI port, I guess DisplayPort is acceptable, but only if it does audio pass through. I've got no brand loyalties, and I'm open to any suggestions.

Thanks guys.

EDIT:

What is your maximum budget? 1500 USD

What country are you in? USA

What will be the uses of this laptop? Mostly work for university, some gaming as well

Do you have brand loyalty or care which brands we select for you? Nope

What screen size do you require? No bigger than 15.4" no smaller than 12.5

What screen resolution do you require? I can"t say exactly, higher res the better

Are you looking to buy NEW or would refurbished/recertified/used be okay?

How long should the battery last? (Under optimal conditions, no movies/games/heavy internet)

What games would you like to play with your laptop? And on what settings?

What operating system do you need? (if any) Windows 7 I guess, since no one here is going to suggest a Mac.

Is there a certain style of laptop you want? (aluminum, black, gaming, etc.) Not really

How much hard drive space do you need? 500 gb or so

Do you need any special hardware? (blue ray, webcam, specialty ports, etc.) HDMI, webcam

Is there anything else we need to know? Nope.

You should fill out the form in the sticky. Most people will say Asus or Sager. Xoticpc has a couple good sales.

Very big laptops but I have one of the new Asus G74 laptop's. Very good cooling and most of them have 560's,HDMI and Bluray. That is what I would go with.

$200 off if you want a 15.6"

http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-g53swxr1...wconfigure=yes

This one is more expensive, but has a better video card and RAM is cheaper to upgrade if you need more.

The Sagers have piqued my interest, but if anyone else has other suggestions, by all means keep them coming.
