Asus Crosshair V formula board may have hampered Bulldozer - Page 31

we are far from 20 cores in the destop...
I think as someone stated this processor is a pipe cleaner...
and I also think it's an asus prob the asrock scores are between 8-10% better in some cases and more in others.
the gigabyte scores i seen were between 5-8% better..something isn't right.
overall picture i see is a major stop gap and room for improvement. this is a first gen architecture and they will be putting the tweaks on it as it matures along with global foundries process technique... will surely be revisions on the chip as they have llano to back them up for the moment.
when it outperformed the i5 and i7 it absolutely chewed them up and spit them out.
as far as one person saying this could be a revisit of net burst.. could resemble in a way bu i think they are just pushing the envelope to see where they can go.
this is also a very good way to see for AMD's purposes to see all at the same time with what the differant chips and testing procedures to see what needs to be done to bring up the performance in those area's where it is needed improvement.

I mean software is going multithreaded, from what i been told it's actually easier to write than single thread.

The ASRock 990FX Fatal1ty has 12+2 Phase power. I dont know how much is on Asus Formula V. But it seems ASRock runs better.

ASRock Dominates!

AMD did not choose the 12+2 Fatal1ty over CHV,
but now the ASRock boards help AMD proof that
the BD isn't a bad chip.

That's OCN. Make a valid point or ask questions (ESPECIALLY if it is AMD/FX related) and you will get a handful of ragers tossing excrement at everyone. When this happens one the of mods will step in and delete your original post along with all of the rage/hate/crapspew posts and then lock the thread. I post regularly on a couple dozen forums about every topic imaginable, including 3 or 4 Tech/Computer forums and this is far and away the worst for this type of thing I have ever encountered. The kneejerk over-moderation creates the problem that moderating is supposed to alleviate by creating a game wherein the ragers lurk and wait for any opportunity to get threads locked, and usually succeed.

The difficulty of highly threaded or low threaded software depends greatly on the API for handling threads. Also having librarys for use in c/c++/java/.net etc. That will encourage developers.

Really its IMHO that people thread the wrong things for the client applications.
