and actually that tactic is one that is used by conscious trolls to have stuff get taken down in many forums/communities.

the irritating part is, some 'lobby/opinionmaking' companies in america have taken these as tactics to employ side by side with various other methods they have been using for their clients. like how they set up tens of 'grassroots communities' out of nowhere with hundreds of thousands of members overnight in the 2005 net neutrality debate, or the standard forum posting services.

even if i find intel or amd employing such a company unlikely, it just shows how effective the process is that they are employed by these harmful companies.

ASUS also has harsh Vdroop. Every ASUS board I've had has this problem. No wonder power consumption is through the roof on these things. I swithced to Gigabyte for my current board, and the power regulation is infinitely better. More clocks on less voltage because the crippling Vdroop isn't there.

Review

Quote:
At this point our Prime95 test would error randomly after a few minutes, which we traced back to vDroop. Despite setting 1.4125v in the BIOS, under load the core voltage would drop to ~1.38v which was not sufficient for all cores. ASUS implemented Load Line Calibration to compensate for this and, by gradually moving from normal (0%), we found the setting which gave us the vCore we set, under load - Ultra High, which is 75% LLC, the penultimate setting before Extreme and 100%. Upon retesting we found that CPU overcurrent protection was kicking in and hard powering off the system, so we upped that to 140% (Extreme level), which worked. We then dropped vCore to 1.4v and retested, and found a stable 4.5Hz 8-core system.

I'm not perfect but I try my best, but honestly this whole BD thing over the last few months has been ridiculous. My .02
I've also never seen a site where fanboys from one camp(Intel) are allowed to run riot over the other camp's (AMD) boards with outright flames and troll-bait with no repercussions whatsoever. It's nothing new, it happens all the time here. Not even so much as a warning to the perpetrators. Other sites would have seen mass bannings by now if what happens here, happened there.

Be careful how you spin that, if anything we've been under-moderating majorly with this whole BD fiasco... you are lucky this thread is even open(a few years back it would've just been closed straight up).

And we infract them for it, and after a few they get banned. Simple as that

Rumor has it that AM3+ will stick around for another generation. AMD would be pulling an Intel by NOT doing so.

Probably one of the reasons BD underperforms; we need a new socket for a new cpu. Not a socket based from 7 years ago. AMD should have definitely ended with the 890FX series and went straight to FM2 for BD.

AMd has needed a new socket since phenom in my opinion, FM2 already has rumors it's gonna be BGA(ball grid array)yeah for us.
but serious note this socket and the backwards compatibility crowd has been doing more to hamper a new socket and a huge increase in board to CPU communication than anything, I would alsmost bet if someone learned to switch the socket form on chips we'd see bigger improvements in speed.

this thread is amazing,
a lot of desperate people trying to find something to not accept the obvious,
using high settings game tests with negligible difference, clearly caused by the VGA being the limiting factor as proof of something (forgetting that much cheaper CPUs can achieve that), handpicking reviews (some very poorly made I must say) to prove that there is something wrong with many others.... sad...
