Your missing the greater picture. They are simply comparative benchmarks, there are benchmarks comparing i7 2500 etc to q6600. Stop being lazy and look for yourself. All I am doing by posting those benchmarks is providing more data.

I'm not being lazy, I just really don't care about what they're benching, on a operating system I'll never use for daily tasks anyways.

Show me a 4.6GHz Bulldozer vs a 4.8GHz i7-2600k, because the price difference between the 8150 and i7-2600k is less than it is when compared to the i5-2500k anyways.

Edit: What I'd really like to see are numbers before and after any sort of "fix" took place, everything else, up to and including benches against a Q6600 (come on seriously) are irrelevant.

you have no idea what 'technology' means.

isnt that more proof that there are yet a lot to be optimized when it comes to windows os, from bulldozer's perspective ? linux benchmarks are much better.

Yes, I definitely am Knowledgeable when it comes to technology as I have been in that profession for 15 yrs.

Please do not make rude comments when you know nothing about what you are talking about!

It's almost as if there's something inherently wrong with the architecture of Bulldozer.

For example, even in one of the supposed few "good" reviews of it, such as HardOCP's (which is really just a GPU limited review), a lot of people apparently missed the Civilization 5 benchmarks in that article:

Sandy Bridge CRUSHES the 8150 in Civ 5, which is very strange, since Civ is one of the more well multi-threaded games. You'd think an "8 core chip" clocked that high would perform a LOT better:
Quote:
What you see above is no mistake, we ran the test multiple times on the AMD FX-8150 system to make sure we didn't screw something up. The AMD FX-8150 consistently produced an average framerate of 40 FPS each time we tried it. Both the Intel i7 2600K and 2500K thoroughly blew the AMD FX-8150 out of the water by providing a whopping 42% faster performance with the Intel i7 2600K.
Quote:
When we overclocked the AMD FX-8150 to 4.6GHz we experienced a significant performance increase in this game, 17% faster than it was at stock settings. However, even with 17% faster performance, it was still not able to reach up to Intel Core i7 2600K and 2500K stock performance in this game.

Those are two alarming paragraphs from HardOCP that should make any gamer think twice about going with the 8150 as a gaming machine...

They are not bad CPU's, just 3 years behind the current technology!

I really want AMD to take off and run with this disappointment!

I agree! The only technological advancement with this design was the ability to fit everything on the 32nm substrate.

Advancement's in technology usually produce benefits in one or more of these areas:

1) Performance - FX performs on level with the last generation Phenom II

2) Energy - Significantly worse in this department then the Phenom II Series.

3) Cost - Cost is slightly higher then the Phenom II series

Put everything else aside and look at the basic computing application, the ability to run a single application. The ability of the FX series is less then that of the phenom II series. Everyone has seen the 100 of benchmarks!

Bios applications may improve in the future which will allow better control of the modules and the shared resources somewhat, but a circuitry change on the substrate will probably be needed!

still i think the 2600k is better than the new FX chip. I mean come on AMD FX chip has 8 cores and it can barely get the scores the 2600K is getting. and don't forget the 2600k have 4 less cores.
