This week we launched the highly anticipated AMD FX series of desktop processors. Based on initial technical reviews, there are some in our community who feel the product performance did not meet their expectations of the AMD FX and the “Bulldozer†architecture. Over the past two days we’ve been listening to you and wanted to help you make sense of the new processors. As you begin to play with the AMD FX CPU processor, I foresee a few things will register:

Tests are usually a little biased when the company selling the product is providing them... they should have just linked to 3rd party reviews. It's also more than just FPS for games. An i7 2600k with a Z68 motherboard and virtu?

I'm an AMD fanboy for sure and even I don't believe that snip-it benchmark they posted. 1100T within .5 FPS of 2600K ? Yah right.

how about giving performance for the apps that matter in the present instead of looking at 5, 10 years into the future?

he says nothing about the terrible single thread performance, and that bit about BF3 - it's just about the only game that worked well. not to mention the epically terrible load power draw

face it - you lost this round. don't try and do damage control. just be honest. i'm an AMD fan admittedly, but this is pretty disappointing, and there's really no reason i see to go with BD over a 2500K or even the Thuban chips

this release really was a disappointment.

I know this is a party killer, but is it a good thing that the 8150 has a larger gap at lower resolutions than at higher resolutions? Shouldn't it be even greater than that if they were showcasing it's performance?

The power consumption is a bit disappointing. Probably the worst thing in my opinion.

BF3 is really GPU limited... Think about it... 32fps with a 6970 at 1200p?

AMD, CPU's don't really matter in BF3 with maxed settings but thanks for trying to fool people into thinking it does. Jagged_Steel posted this right?
